The first picture is my favorite (only) road bike. In February 2006, I took a chance and bought it online through eBay. The seller was a team rider, and he had two Giant bikes for sale. I did a lot of investigating and preparation for shipping, and in the end it was a sweet deal. It's a 2005 Giant TCR C1, compressed geometry size medium. It's right on the edge of being too small, but I had it set up by Nelo's in Austin, and the fit is fine. It has Shimano Ultegra in the front, Dura Ace in the rear. I replaced the seat (Fizik Ariane) and Nelo's helped me size and replace the stem, but otherwise it's mostly stock. Lately I've been jonesing for a new bike, but it will have to wait for awhile. But can't you tell that she's ready and anxious to stretch her legs and go for a cruise? Even the die cast dog and the UT garden gnome know that it's true.
The second shot is my lovely mug. Good thing my nose was clear, because you can see all the way into my sinus cavity. I need to work on my self portrait technique, but frankly I was just trying to keep from going over the handlebars.
And lastly, this is the southernmost stretch of the ride. This shot is almost directly across from Anzalduas Park, and you can see the St. Joseph & St. Peter Seminary in the background. This is a terrible picture, but it's hard to frame a shot when you're trying to maintain 90 RPM / 20+ MPH. Not sure who the riders are in the distance. I eventually caught them, but they passed me once we turned into the wind. I lose again.
